Spanish 2 - This week at a glance

We are starting a new Unit - "El monstruo debajo del refrigerador".  I will give back your test results for the writing, reading and listening comprehension tests on Monday.  As always the vocabulary list is available on the class webpage.  (http://www.quia.com/pages/sp2f2007.html)

Quizzes this week will be on verbs, Casi se muere, and vocabulary.

We will continue reading "Casi se muere" and learning more about Chile.  There are some very interesting things that you will learn about Chile as we watch and take notes on the video.

Spanish 4 - This week at a glance

We are finishing our Unit - "La criada o la malcriada".  The test on this unit will be on Friday, September 26.  All of the vocabulary is now on the board.  and of course all of the vocabulary is on your class webpage.  (http://www.quia.com/pages/sp42006.html).  Please notice that the vocabulary on the class page is divided into two parts. Be sure to practice all of the vocabulary.  There are many review games and drills to help prepare you for the test.

Vocabulario hasta el 26 de septiembre:

¡Claro que sí!  = of course

una sonrisa = a smile

la mejilla = the cheeck

recordó  = he/she remembered

siguió mirando  = he/she continued looking (stared)

mentía = he/she used to lie

recordé  = I remembered

seguí mirando  = I continued looking (staring)

mentía  = I used to lie

pillaron  = they caught (busted)

un ladrón = a thief

oscura = dark

una bebida = a drink

estaba muy cansado (estaba agotado) = he/she was very tired/ exhausted

descansó (relajó/se cansó) = he/she rested (relaxed/got tired)

descansé = I rested

MC- H

pisaba = I/he/she used to step on

un vecino (un vecindario) = a neighbor

ya basta = enough alread! That's enough

tenía mucho valor = he/she/it was very valuable

This week we will continue reading "Casi se muere" and learning more about the country of Chile.

This week's vocabulary (some of it is from last week):

le dice: "¡Dámelo!"   =  he/she says to him/her: "Give it to me!"

exige = he/she demands

se niega a dárselo  =  he/she refuses to give it to her/him

contiene la respiración  =  he/she holds his/her breath

tiene hipo  =  he/she/it has the hiccups

necesita un consejo  =  he/she needs advice

Sigue el consejo   =  he/she follows the advice

está desesperado  =   he is desperate

Espero que todos estén pasando un buen fin de semana. 

Esta semana vamos a continuar leyendo nuestra novela "El viaje perdido" y vamos a aprender más acerca de Puerto Rico.
