Español 3 - El fin del semestre

The end of the semester is in sight.  In order to get ready for the final exam, I suggest that you visit the class web page and go over all of the vocabulary lists.  Also go over all of the review sheets that we have worked on in class.  Let me know if you need extra practice on any particular thing.

Have a great summer and I hope you get to use your Spanish during the summer.

El fin del semestre - Español 5

Hemos llegado al fin de semestre y ha sido un placer tenerlos en mi clase.  Para prepararse para el examen final hablen con quien puedan en español y visiten la página de la clase para repasar el vocabulario.  Yo creo que todos Uds. van a lograr sus metas y sacar buenas notas en el examen final. 

Espero que todos tengan un verano seguro y lleno de diversiones.  Claro que espero que tengan oportunidades para usar su español. 

Español 3 - Nos faltan 5 semanas para el fin del año escolar

Costa Rica

Yes,  5 more weeks before summer!  

This week we will have a quiz on the vocabulary that we are learning. We will also have quizzes on the readings that we do in class (some of those will be writing grades).

Español 5 - Nos quedan 5 semanas

¡Es increíble pero solamente nos quedan 5 semanas y entconces estaremos de vacaciones!

Es hora de empezar a planear nuestra fiesta para celebrar lo que hemos aprendido acerca de la comida hispana.  Voy a poner una página a la mano derecha con enlaces a las recetas y a videos de cómo hacerlas. 

Esta semana vamos a aprender el vocabualrio para el cuento:  "No tengo nada que ponerme"

Seguiremos leyendo "Gracias a Winn-Dixie" y trabajaremos más en los diferentes tiempos verbales. 

Pruebas de la semana:  verbos, vocabulario, y canciones

 Empandas de carne (¡Son sabrósas!)

Español 3 - We have 6 more weeks!

We will be learning a lot about Costa Rica as we read our new book and find out about what happens to Carmen and Eduardo. 

We are starting a new unit on Monday - 'Lydia y su hermanastra molestosa" and we will be reading from our new reader, "¿Dónde está Eduardo?".

In the next few weeks we will be working on the new vocabulary and learning more about the past tenses.  For practice on the vocablary visit my website and the class page. 

For extra help please talk to me in order to schedule a help session or take advantage of the tutoring available on Thursday afternoons. 

Español 5 - ¡Nos quedan 6 semanas!

Sí, es increible pero verdad.  Necesitan estar seguros que han completado todo su trabajo.  (Make sure all make-ups are done soon).

We will be reading every day from Gracias a Winn-Dixie.  We will also be exploring a little more into the Hispanic culinary world and reading a few more stories from "Lee conmigo". 

 This week we will get the recipe for empanadas to add to our other recipies.    I can't wait to try all of the food we have learned about in class!

If you are having trouble with any aspect of the class, please talk to me to schedule extra help and/or make use of the tutoring available on Thursdays after school.

  Un plato típico de Puerto Rico

Progress reports are going out in all classes today and Monday.

Congratulations again on your performance on the last test.  We start a new unit today. It is called "El club de hombres."  You can visit the class page to see the vocabulary lists (2) for this uni and for any practice you might need.

We are also starting a cultural study of the regional differences in food in Hispanic coutries.

  Lake Titicaca, Perú (floating man-made islands)

Progress reports are going out today and Monday in all classes. 

We are starting the second half of our unit called "El Sr. Rezongón" today.  We have done Mini-cuentos A-D and we are starting on Mini-cuento E today. 

Listening well in class and participating 100% of the time is all you have to do to be successful in class. In order to get an A just add a little on line practice to reinforce what you learn in class. 

Always strive to do your best...it's what you deserve.

We will be exploring more about El Salvador and Lake Titicaca (between Perú and Bolivia)

Español 3 - ¿Qué está pasando?

We will be starting a new unit on Friday.   I recommend you start studying the vocabulary right away.  The vocabulary is already posted on the class web page.

Español 5 - ¿qué está pasando?

Uds. hicieron muy bien en la última unidad.  Vamos a empezar una unidad nueva y continuar leyendo el libro Winn=Dixie.  Pronto empezaremos a ver la película.  ¿Alquien quiere traer palomitas?

La lista de vocabulario nuevo está en la página de la clase.  Hoy empezamos con el primer grupo de palabras.  

En el libro Winn-Dixie estamos por acabar el capítulo 5.

La canción nueva es "Dime luna" por el grupo Maná

No te olvides de recitar el poema:  "Cultivo una rosa blanca"
