10th Grade Classroom Guidance

The counselors have just completed 10th grade classroom guidance with all 10th graders in World History this semester.  It was a wonderful learning experience, and we encourage our students to continue to build their portfolios in Career Cruising during their high school career.  They can match their interests to careers, explore hundreds of careers, create resumes, explore colleges and financial aid opportunities and keep all of their information in their own portfolio.  The powerpoint from the lesson is attached for students and parents to reference.

College Recommendation Letters

Remember students per our senior classroom guidance sessions, all college recommendations must be turned in to me at least 2 weeks in advance of deadlines.  If you are applying and the deadline is January 15, 2009-which many deadlines are-I need it by December 5, 2008 in order to have it completed and mailed before the due date.  Also, if you want me to write the personal letter, I need your resume or the form of activities filled out and turned in with your application.  Thanks!

Thursday Sept. 11, 2008-Junior/Senior Parent Night in the theatre at 6:30-Important information regarding graduation requirements, future plans and goals, and so much more......

Thursday October 9, 2008-9th/10th grade Parent Night TBA time and place-valuable information regarding new graduation requirements, how to be successful in high school, and lots more to come...

Thursday November 20, 2008-Financial Aid Night-6:30 pm in the LGI.  A representative from Student Financial Services will be here to provide valuable information regarding money for colleges and tech schools.  Come and get all of your questions answered regarding how to pay for the child's future education.
