Senior Timeline
The student should submit the Student Resume and two (2) Teacher Referral forms to the Guidance Office at least two (2) weeks prior to the deadline date.

q Create a Career Cruising User Profile with e-mail address. q Create GACollege411 account, if not previously done (www.gacollege411.org) q Update high school counselor on summer activities q Review college information q Obtain any updated college applications q Write rough draft of essays for any school that requires essays for admission q Attend college fairs/financial aid seminars q Determine admissions/scholarship requirements/deadlines q Register for SAT/ACT if you plan to retake them q Request transcript from high school to be sent to colleges q Request recommendations from teachers and counselor q Begin college applications – file online |

q Have rough draft of essay reviewed by English teacher. PROOF YOUR ESSAYS! q Schedule any necessary interviews q GHSGT Re-Test October 29th -31st. |

q Have someone proofread all applications before submitting q Mail completed applications before Thanksgiving break or file online (check deadlines of each school you to which you plan to apply as many have earlier deadlines) q Keep a photocopy of everything you send to colleges |

q Receive acceptance letters q Begin to shorten list of schools to which you have been accepted q Review forms with parents/guardian q Register for SAT/ACT, if necessary |

q Obtain financial aid forms (FAFSA) from counselor or file an e-Hope application online at www.gacollege411.org q Complete and mail financial aid forms (including college scholarships) q Complete and submit Residence Life applications for campus housing |

q Register for AP (Advanced Placement) Exams, if applicable q GHSGT (Georgia High School Graduation Test) Re-Test Dates: 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th |

q Receive financial aid offers q Inform your counselor of any scholarship offers (provide copy of award letter) q Make final choice of which college you will attend |

q Confirm your acceptance q Write a letter declining acceptance to any school from which you received an offer of acceptance, but will not attend q Write a thank you letter to all teachers, alumni and friends who wrote letters of recommendation q Inform your guidance counselor of where you will be attending q Request final transcripts be sent to the college you have chosen to attend |
**Note: Male students must register with the Selective Service upon their 18th birthday.
