We are starting the research paper this week and are going to the media center Mon. to search Sprayberry databases for articles on your subjects. These articles will be the basis for your preliminary works cited page.

See calendar and research handouts for all additional information. All sue dates must be met, and all steps must be completed. You will need to purchase note cards and a manila envelope.

This week we will also be finishing up Romanticism with the Transcendentalists and Anti -Transcendentalists. The unit test will probably be Wed. or Thurs.

I will be introducing The Crucible and reviewing terms associated with it: witch hunt, Red Scare, scapegoating, McCarthyism, puritanical attitudes, hypocrisy, etc.

We will begin reading the play aloud in class: students will take roles,

and all will complete Crucible study questions.

Ist block: complete Of Mice and Men and study ques. for Mon. January 28.

3rd block: complete Of Mice and Men and study ques. for Feb.7.

Honors American Lit. week of Dec.10

The Great  Gatsby test is Monday.

The Realism unit test is Tuesday.

We will be doing the Modernism unit- see syllabus. We'll see how far we can get and possibly have a unit test---OR  modernism will be on the final exam next week.
