Week of April 28th

WORLD LITERATURE:

On the horizon, make sure you have your portfolio complete with your favorite piece typed up in MLA Format and ready to present on Wednesday.  Also, you will have a test over Night on Thursday.  Make sure you are keeping up with your study guides. 

AMERICAN LITERATURE:

RESEARCH PAPER DUE WEDNESDAY APRIL 30TH.  NO EXCUSES ABOUT LATE PAPERS.  IF YOU WILL NOT BE HERE ON THAT DAY, YOU NEED TO GET IT TO ME VIA EMAIL: christopher.brune@cobbk12.org

Also, we will be transitioning from Transcendentalism into Naturalism/Realism this week.  Make sure you are bringing your books.  WORK ON RESEARCH PAPERS.

Week of April 21st

World Literature

Make sure you are keeping up with your non-fiction portfolio pieces.  As of Monday, you should have the following:

Five Senses/Descriptive Words Handout
In Cold Blood Doodle plus Intersection Description
How-To
Memory

We will be adding to them this week, and I will discuss the final due date for the portfolio.

American Literature

Don't lose track of the research paper due dates.  Due dates for this week and next are as follows:

Monday, April 21st - Formal Outline
Thursday, April 24 - Typed Rough Draft
Wednesday, April 30 - Final Paper Due

Also, this week The Great Gatsby has been postponed, so ignore last week's post. 

We will finish Transcendentalism this week with a test on Thursday April 24.  So make sure to look over your notes and ask questions if you have them.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back, everyone!  We're in the final stretch of the semester, and it's time to buckle down.

AMERICAN LITERATURE:

As you are aware, we've been working on the research paper.  Make sure you come prepared with questions and keep in mind the following Due Dates:

4/18 Note Cards Due
4/21 Working Outline
4/25 Rough Draft Due
4/30 Final Draft Due

Also, we'll begin to read The Great Gatsby this week.  Be sure you keep up with the reading and be prepared to take a quiz covering the chapters due.  Here is a guide to where you need to be in your reading.

4/22 Chapters 1-2
4/28 Chapters 3-4
5/2 Chapters 5-6
5/5 Chapters 7
5/8 Chapters 8-9

Note: You will have a quiz over the chapters due each day above.  Keep up with the reading.
